Charles Beard, former Wardog Band Director, was named the 2026 Nancy Gee Excellence in Education Award winner at the annual Blue Event for the Miami Public Schools Enrichment Foundation.

Ron Sparkman, MHS Class of 1954, was named the 2026 Oustanding Alumni for the Miami Public Schools Enrichment Foundation. He was recognized for this achievement at the annual Blue Event.
